About
Welcome to Damla, a hidden gem nestled at Wilhelmstraße 53, in the heart of Meidling, Austria. This establishment is not just another restaurant; it embodies the essence of authentic Turkish cuisine, attracting both locals and visitors alike with its vibrant flavors and warm, friendly atmosphere. The inviting glow of the place welcomes you as you step inside, where the tantalizing aroma of spices and freshly made dishes beckons you to indulge.
Damla is hailed as the best Turkish breakfast spot in the area, and it’s clear why. Customers rave about the extensive spread of Turkish breakfast offerings—think delightful cheeses, fresh salads, and an array of delicious small plates. Perfect for gathering with family or friends, this restaurant encourages you to order generously, but be warned—your table may quickly be overflowing with delectable dishes that showcase the richness of Turkish culinary traditions!
One of the standout dishes at Damla is undoubtedly the Döner, which has garnered a dedicated following over the years. This beloved staple delivers robust flavors that keep patrons coming back for more. The kebabs, while a mixed bag from some reviews, still entice with their distinct hum of spices that speak to the heart of Turkish street food. However, not all experiences seem to hit the mark; some customers have noted that certain dishes like Cevapi, could use improvement, having found them lacking the right accompaniments.
For those with a sweet tooth, Damla’s Baklava is a must-try, offering the perfect balance of flaky pastry and rich filling. But choose wisely, as personal preferences on flavors (coconut, for one) can vary widely among guests. Overall, the bakery aspect offers another layer of satisfaction, with fresh bread that perfectly complements the meal, adding an authentic touch to the dining experience.
The service at Damla has received mixed feedback, but many customers appreciate the friendliness of the staff, who are always eager to assist. Weekend mornings can get crowded, so arriving early or being patient with the bustling atmosphere might be necessary to fully enjoy your experience.
In conclusion, Damla successfully captures the essence of Turkish dining, making it a delightful destination for both the palate and the heart. Whether you’re diving into a lavish breakfast with loved ones or grabbing a quick kebab, each visit promises an experience to savor. Don't miss out on this culinary oasis in Meidling!
“ Amazing Kebab and Dürüm, when it comes to Pizza its under average quality and Cevapi are definitely not to recommend as they dont have Kajmak and Ajvar(although written in menu)… One of the worst Cevapi I ever ate…Anyways reflecting on positive things, Döner is a must try at this place, enjoyed it for many years ”
“ Nice restaurant with large selection of kebabs and baklavas. ”
“ In all honesty - it is more a kebab shop than. Bakery if you look at it and I used both services. Bakery itself let ppl eat during the lockdown in the bakery - not sure that is allowed thou. Baclava is delicious and seems fresh, did not like the coconut flavoured one so much. Bread seems fresh and looks great, good colour. Not sure a yugo bread actually exist. ”
“ Can’t lie I only started going cuz there’s a hot guy working in the kebab section, but after trying it it was actually really good so I kept going for both (food and the guy w the long eyelashes) actually worth the money, tastes good, and it’s not expensive. Wished the older workers were a bit more friendly tho ”
“ Not all Dürum is created equally, but this place seems pretty solid! I love that they have the choice of veal, chicken or beef. Most places only have two options. Will be back ”
